BOTSWANA — Okavango, Chobe, Linyanti
→ A transition month that can be magnificent for photography: distant storms, golden light, first newborn antelopes. Wildlife remains dense but slightly less concentrated than in peak dry season. Beautiful sightings of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions and wild dogs before heavier rains.
→ Data: 20–34°C; thunderstorms; growing grasses; rising mosquito levels; occasional slippery tracks.
NAMIBIA — Namib, Damaraland, Etosha
→ A very good month for desert landscapes: early, isolated rains enhance colours; dunes are spectacular; dramatic skies. In Etosha, wildlife remains visible but less concentrated than in winter.
→ Data: 18–35°C; irregular rain; no mosquitoes in arid zones; excellent tracks.
ZAMBIA — South Luangwa & Lower Zambezi
→ Still possible in early November, with superb light and active wildlife before the progressive closing of camps. A beautiful month for green-season photographers: elephants, hippos, lions and leopards in saturated landscapes.
→ Data: 22–36°C; showers; growing grasses; rising mosquitoes; sometimes muddy tracks.
ZIMBABWE — Hwange (north) & Victoria Falls
→ Softer season: more humidity, but a very beautiful tropical atmosphere. Victoria Falls begin regaining volume. In Hwange, elephants remain numerous and predators active before heavier rains arrive.
→ Data: 22–34°C; intermittent rain; moderate mosquitoes; variable visibility.
MALAWI — Liwonde, Majete + Lake Malawi
→ A tropical, highly photogenic month: changing grasses, dramatic late-day storms, very visible elephants and hippos along the rivers. The lake remains superb for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking.
→ Data: 22–32°C; possible rainfall; moderate mosquitoes; variable tracks; lake 26–27°C.
SÉNÉGAL — Dakar, Saint-Louis & Sine Saloum
→ A very beautiful coastal and cultural month: the rains withdraw, light becomes clearer, and landscapes stay green. Saint-Louis and excursions on the Senegal River are particularly pleasant, with impressive birdlife.
→ Data: 24–32°C; residual early-month showers; mosquitoes present.
SAO TOMÉ-ET-PRÍNCIPE
→ An ideal month for deep forests, cacao plantations, waterfalls and villages, with a soft tropical atmosphere and saturated colours.
→ Data: 24–29°C; frequent but brief showers; warm sea; moderate mosquitoes.
ZANZIBAR, PEMBA, MAFIA, THANDA, FANJOVE
→ A very good beach month, humid but beautiful: warm sea, lively reefs, excellent contrasts. Mafia still offers good chances to see whale sharks.
→ Data: 25–30°C; short rains; high humidity; moderate mosquitoes; 28–29°C water.
MAURITIUS
→ Beginning of the Mauritian summer: lush gardens, warm lagoon, ideal climate for luxury villas, golf and relaxation.

→ Excellent for beaches, granite islands and cruises: warm sea, soft light, ideal tropical conditions.
