NAMIBIA — Namib, Damaraland, Etosha
→ A superb month for desert landscapes: isolated storms carve dramatic contrasts into the dunes, colours shift rapidly, and photographic conditions are exceptional. In Etosha, wildlife remains visible but more dispersed.
→ Data: 20–35°C; irregular rains; no mosquitoes in arid zones; excellent roads.
ZIMBABWE — Chutes Victoria & Hwange Nord
→ A beautiful green-season period: the Falls regain power, vegetation becomes lush, and birdlife is exceptional. In Hwange, elephants remain visible near wet plains, though overall visibility decreases.
→ Data: 20–33°C; frequent rains; tall grass; moderate mosquitoes; mixed track conditions.
ZAMBIA — South Luangwa (end of season) & Lower Zambezi
→ A highly photographic but demanding green-season safari: saturated colours, tall grass, elusive predators but extraordinary light. Several camps close depending on rain levels.
→ Data: 22–36°C; heavy rains; muddy tracks; many mosquitoes; reduced visibility.
MALAWI — Liwonde, Majete & Lake Malawi
→ A tropical month: thunderstorms, tall grass, but beautiful river scenes in Liwonde and Majete. Limited terrestrial wildlife visibility, yet Lake Malawi remains warm and stunning for snorkeling and relaxation.
→ Data: 22–33°C; heavy rains; high mosquitoes; difficult tracks; lake 27–28°C.
SÉNÉGAL — Dakar, Saint-Louis & Sine Saloum
→ Beginning of the dry season: clearer air, diminishing rain, landscapes still green. A beautiful month for culture, coastline and birding, especially in Saint-Louis and along the Senegal River.
→ Data: 23–32°C; residual early-month rain; moderate mosquitoes.
SAO TOMÉ-ET-PRÍNCIPE
→ A deeply atmospheric tropical month: dense forests, full rivers, spectacular waterfalls. Ideal for hiking, plantation visits, birdwatching and warm-sea swimming.
→ Data: 25–30°C; frequent rain; warm calm sea; mosquitoes present.
ZANZIBAR, PEMBA, MAFIA, THANDA, FANJOVE
→ An excellent beach month: warm sea, vibrant reefs, rich marine life. In Mafia, December is the prime season for whale sharks.

→ Start of the Mauritian summer: lush gardens, very warm lagoon, festive atmosphere. Perfect for high-end villas, golf, yachting and relaxation.
