The experience is more “green season jungle” than classic dry-season safari, but still beautiful for landscape lovers.

MALAWI — Lake Malawi & Highlands
→ A wonderful month for lake life and culture: warm, clear water, vibrant fishing villages, intense colours. Wildlife viewing is possible ; hippos, antelopes, and sometimes elephants ; but the green vegetation and rains reduce readability. Best suited to travellers seeking relaxation, immersion, and gentle exploration.

ZAMBIA — South Luangwa & Lower Zambezi (for seasoned travellers)
→ A magnificent month for green-season photography: elephants, buffalo, hippos, and spectacular birdlife (bee-eaters, storks, herons). Intimate encounters are possible, but tall grasses, dense vegetation, and muddy tracks reduce overall visibility. A rewarding choice for experienced travellers who understand green-season dynamics.

TANZANIA SOUTH / WEST — Ruaha, Nyerere, Katavi, Mahale (for experienced travellers)
→ A challenging but beautiful month: lush vegetation, swollen rivers, brilliant birdlife. Sightings of elephants, buffalo, lions, and in Mahale, chimpanzees, are possible, but dense bush and frequent rain make the safari less predictable.

RWANDA — Volcanoes National Park (Gorillas)
→ A very good month for gorilla trekking: stable conditions, manageable humidity, accessible slopes. Encounters are often intimate, with playful juveniles and silverbacks interacting in soft, filtered bamboo light.
→ Data: 12–24°C; light rain; firm trails; moderate humidity; few mosquitoes.
OUGANDA — Bwindi & Kibale (Gorillas + Chimpanzees)
→ Excellent for primates. In Bwindi, gorillas remain accessible in manageable vegetation; in Kibale, chimpanzees are active and vocal, offering lively group interactions. A few showers, but they rarely compromise the experience.

SÉNÉGAL — Dakar, Sine Saloum, Saint-Louis & Senegal River Cruise
→ One of the very best months for cultural and coastal exploration. In Saint-Louis, the light is exceptionally clear, enhancing the colonial architecture. The Senegal River cruise is calm and highly rewarding for observing pelicans, cormorants, herons, egrets, and hippopotamus groups. Dakar enjoys perfect weather for art, cuisine, and coastal walks.

GABON — Loango, Pongara, Ivindo (for adventurous travellers)

→ A superb beach month: calm seas, clear water, excellent underwater visibility, with possibilities of turtles, rays, tropical fish, and on Mafia, whale-sharks.

MAURITIUS
→ A refined, warm, tropical month ideal for villas and luxury beach stays, and easy to combine with a safari further west.
