SOUTH AFRICA — Kruger private reserves (Sabi Sands, Timbavati, Klaserie)
→ March is a lovely late-green-season period: the bush is lush but beautiful for photography. Sightings of lions, leopards, wild dogs, elephants, and giraffes remain strong, though tall grasses may occasionally limit long-distance views. Waterholes are still active. Not as sharp as the dry winter, but excellent when combined with Cape Town or the Garden Route.
→ Data: 16–28°C; occasional showers; medium to tall grasses; variable visibility; mosquitoes still present.
ZANZIBAR, PEMBA, MAFIA, THANDA, FANJOVE

RWANDA — Volcanoes National Park (gorillas)

OUGANDA — Bwindi, Kibale & Queen Elizabeth (gorillas + chimpanzees + savanna)

SÉNÉGAL — Dakar, Sine Saloum & Saint-Louis (final good month before rising heat)
→ March remains a strong month for cultural, coastal, and ornithological travel. In Saint-Louis, the light is soft and beautiful, ideal for exploring the colonial city. In the Djoudj (until mid-March), migratory birds ; white pelicans, flamingos, cormorants, herons, spur-winged geese ; are still abundant. In Sine Saloum, mangroves, islands, and fishing villages offer excellent birding and serene boat excursions.

MALAWI — Lake & Highlands (for slow travellers)
