KENYA — Masaï Mara, Laikipia, Lewa, Samburu
→ A high-intensity safari month, even outside the core crossing dates. In the Mara, the plains are golden and completely open: lions, cheetahs, and leopards hunt in full visibility, with early herds of wildebeest creating dynamic scenes.
In Laikipia and Lewa, the clarity of winter light reveals iconic species with ease: black and white rhinos, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, elephants, and highly active predators.
In Samburu, the endemic species ; oryx beisa, somali ostrich, giraffes, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebras ; gather near the Ewaso Nyiro River, offering elegant, graphical sightings.

MALAWI — Liwonde, Majete + Lac Malawi
→ August is a superb month for combining safari and lake. In the parks, the bush is wide open: excellent viewing of elephants, buffalos, lions, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, large antelope groups and stunning birdlife. Riverbanks attract a concentration of species in beautiful morning and afternoon light.
At Lake Malawi, the water is warm and glassy, ideal for snorkelling, kayaking, dhow excursions, and observing the brilliant cichlid fish unique to the lake.

RWANDA — Parc des Volcans (gorillas)
→ A magnificent month for gorilla trekking: cool temperatures, dry ground, and crystal-clear viewing conditions. Gorilla families remain very active ; playful juveniles, calm mothers, powerful silverbacks moving through bamboo clearings.
A refined, deeply emotional experience in optimal conditions.
→ Data: 12–20°C; very little rain; almost no mosquitoes.
UGANDA — Bwindi, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth
→ Excellent visibility in the montane forests and extremely good primate activity. In Bwindi, gorilla families move through more open vegetation, making interactions very clear and intimate.
In Kibale, chimpanzees are vocal, dynamic, and often seen leaping through fig trees.
In Queen Elizabeth, classic savanna scenes unfold: tree-climbing lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and superb birdlife along the Kazinga Channel.

GABON — Loango, Lopé, Ivindo
→ August is the best month of Gabon’s major dry season: forests are more navigable, humidity drops, and wildlife visibility increases dramatically.
In Loango, extraordinary scenes unfold on the beaches, where forest elephants and buffalos sometimes emerge from the tree line. Primates ; mandrills, colobus, cercopithecus ; are commonly encountered.
It is also one of the very best gorilla months:
— In Loango, the habituated group is located with strong reliability.
— At Langoué Bai (Ivindo), non-habituated gorillas frequently visit the clearing, often early in the morning. A demanding but deeply rewarding expedition.

SÃO TOMÉ-ET-PRÍNCIPE
→ A luminous, calm month: perfect for rainforest walks, waterfall exploration, cacao plantation visits and birdwatching of several endemic species. Beaches are peaceful, warm and crystal clear.
→ Data: 24–28°C; low rain; moderate mosquitoes.
ZANZIBAR, PEMBA, MAFIA, THANDA, FANJOVE
→ A near-perfect beach month: dry air, calm seas, excellent underwater visibility.
Zanzibar and Pemba offer superb snorkelling and reef exploration; Mafia delivers outstanding tropical marine life (outside the whale-shark season which begins in October).
Private islands like Thanda and Fanjove offer impeccable exclusivity and serenity.

MAURITIUS
→ Gentle southern-winter weather: ideal for hiking, golf, wellness retreats and elegant coastal stays. Clear, crisp air makes landscapes especially beautiful.
